Hi all,

Now that I have connected a PayPal account I was wondering how people would feel if we had contests which actually had prices?

I am unsure of local tax-rules and will have to check them if people are positive, but my idea was this...

we start a contest with a specific due-date, all entries would be posted here in an album as before, hidden until all are done.
Then each participant would pay a small fee, say $1to $5 or something, and when voting is done, the first, second and third divide this money in a way we discern beforehand.

I would not keep any money, and of course could not participate either since I COULD cheat the voting

We could have an open vote of course, which would hinder that, i.e. vote in a forum or comment thread.

Is this an idea that you people like? Maybe more would enter a contest where we had some kind of price for it?

I attached at vote to this idea, but noone has voted, I assume thats because you people read the forums without being logged in...

Basically I wonder if this idea is a good or bad one...

The adlinks will give a small income to the site, if it continues, that might be used in some contest, but I would have to wait a month or two until it "fills up" a bit :-/

I'd recommend against any sort of monetary contributions or awards. Sounds difficult to manage, and not likely to improve participation. I don't see the poll anywhere, but if I find it I'll vote no. ;)

PS: Found it!

I have more or less already given up on it,the response was, what can I say, less then the participation in the themes and earlier contests...

Basically it seems themes and contest isnt what people want here... but anyone can call a challenge so the forums and galleries are open if anyone want to make one

Oh, btw, you need to be logged in to vote, and its closed already anyways, I only allowed one month to vote

I wouldn't say that exactly. I've enjoyed seeing the 'challenges' here, but I have little time to actually participate in them - probably like many other members. It's much easier to look at somebody else's work!

I think it's fine to continue suggesting themes, but an unnecessary complication to consider adding prizes.

I'm with sybersitizen; do what I can with the time I have.
Don't really think 'price prize' is going to do much; just loving to use and showing Imagine3D's 'can do' abilities is my prize.

Best way I know is 'working with Imagine3D' and being here with fellow Imagine3Ders.
