Hi,

I just thought I would drop by and say hello.

My only true claim to fame in the Imagine world was to have a picture published in CU Amiga magazine. Not much but I'm proud of it.

I had been using Imagine 4.0 till 1999 when my trusty A1200 finally went to silicon heaven. Having tried numerous PC programs, none of which hit the mark that Imagine managed I was delighted to find this group.

Now I intend to finish the movie I began just before my Amiga died, once I've got all the texture files and rebuilt all my models. (Got to re-learn the program too).

Welcome, Cheops. You'll find tutorials as well as the e-manual I-Files here for IFW. Render on.

Imagine has the best rendering engine in the entire world of 3D graphics. It's just that the object creation tools set needs a complete overhaul to compete in today's market.

Hello... My name is Philip and I found out about Imagine 3D from I book I found in a bargain bin around 1996 or 97 called "3D Modelling Lab." The book included Imagine 2.0, which was a pure DOS program; it would not work in Window's mode. I later found out there was a way to configure Windows to get it to work, but I never did understand how to configure Windows 9x. Imagine 2.0 is my very first wire frame render-er... I use to play with it a lot but didn't really get as far as I liked to have gotten in it due to the fact that I didn't quite understand how all of the editors worked, but I never gave up on it. As time went on I finally was able to model things on it using the primitives the program supplied; I even made a space ship once. I have very fun memories of the program and I only wish I'd made a movie or something with it. Had I not discovered the book in the bargain bin, I wouldn't have ventured in to the world of 3D modeling. It was my first time using a 3D modeller and it would be a few years before I got serious with 3D modelling I'm a better 3D modeller then I am applying texture mapping. But it never would be so had I not ran into Imagine 2.0 for DOS.

HI, ace, welcome the the club. That book looks like you've been reading it a lot. What are those things on the side there? Flop...pies? I think I remember those...

Well,

You probabbly already have downloaded 2.0 for Windows form here, there are all the CUP updates to, up to 2.19...

And the I-Files manuals that REALLY describes how Imagine worked before the updates... most if it is still true...

Let us see what you do :)

Here's some work I did in some 3D and photoshop courses I took a few years back... I used 3D Max for the rendering... It's nothing dynamic just some rendering test I had to do to get a grade. These days I 3D model in Blender 3D, but to see the Imagine community still alive and kicking it's makes me want to get back to using Imagine.
