Well after my break-in last autumn I had to buy a new box that was instantly functional for my work and wound up with Windows 7 which by and large I really like...but Imagine doesn't. When I'm modeling I often split faces away from a shape to detail a part, and in Win7 everything disappears until I select all, group and save, delete the on-screen object and reload it. Then everything is back complete. Anyone else run into this?

Hi
Running IFW2 quite happily on Windows 7 can't say I have experienced that kind of problem, the only thing I can think would cause that is if you were running the editor in OGL mode, have had similar when manipulating/moving objects.

It certainly sounds like a gfx card or driver issue..
Might be an idea to check your gfx drivers are current also try turning off hardware acceleration for your gfx card if thats an option.

hope this helps..

Well I run IFW2.0 on my laptop with win7 64 bit. I tried running IFW 2.19 and was having some visual issues in the interface and in rendering, so I went back to 2.0. One thing I know though Vista 64 makes the Imagine crash if i try using any of the Essence textures.... I'm gonna try doing what you described and see if the same thing happens to me. -Dave

I don't know if this is the case, Bobby, but there was a version of Imagine 2.1x that did just that during redraws. May have been 2.17...

I checked here first, then attempted to install 2.0 from the original disk on Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. I could not get the 'Setup.exe' installer to run at all. What I did instead was to copy the entire Imagine folder from the root of my old WinXP C: drive to the same place on the new system. That worked perfectly. I also later ran the Organica 'Setup.exe' installer, and that worked perfectly.
