The Martian dozer was a concept that took a lot of head scratching to get even an idea of a design.
Because of Mar’s lack of a magnetic field, permanent habitats would need to be buried or covered in ‘sand bags’, thus a large bulldozer and digger would have to be sent there. Seen against a real Martian sunset is my early design, (no.22) based on components from my other Mars Polar Rover, 5-crew concept. Vehicle folds to a similar size to the other rover for launch in a dedicated rocket, due to a large mass. I figured crane over digger for the rear unit, as this should prove more useful for setting up a permanent habitat.
A mission so large would need private industrial funding as well as governmental investment from many sources and advertising sponsors would be essential.
