Interior of a Mars Lander
Packing a lot of equipment into a small spacecraft is not easy. My design has three inflatable habitat units that deploy on landing; only the doors are visible in this render, to give the seven-crew members a modicum of walking space!
The upper, (ghosted) deck is the ascent stage, housing the crew couches and flight controls and can be used as a dormitory if needed.
It’s fun to Imagine such things; I just wish someone would have a go at the real thing. Maybe this century!

I believe that at the time they seriously are going to send someone out to one of the far away planets, they need to send fabrication units first that like the current rover could start building the parts needed to make habitats on site with the material there.

Re: Interior of a Mars Lander
The initial plans I have read about seem to involve a fuel-producing unit to provide for the crews return from the surface, maybe water and breathing gases to.
If you check out the “SpaceX” site, you will find that that private company’s crew vehicle is designed with a yearlong life support system. They want Mars; maybe before the Chinese land on the moon!
