My new Lost City Projekt - Rendered with Imagine 2.19 -
Something to my "Lost City" project

A good friend only asked me yesterday if I could build a ruined city for him in Imagine, which he would like to use for a music video. At first I was very skeptical because he wanted to have a lot of irregular rubble in the streets ... and thought of particles and the popcorn module. Then I thought of my RAM memory and the extreme computing time.

Anyway, I cooked myself a cup of coffee this afternoon and thought to myself ... today is an Easter holiday anyway, and I mean nothing better anyway.

However, after half an hour I realized that I was moving forward very fast. And just wanted to show you what I've already done after an hour of work. So I think for a Quick Scanline Render in the Detaileditor looks quite passable

The first picture is basically the output, as I got it from the renderer.

And the second picture I just subjected to a simple post-production. Since only copied the picture again in a second channel and multiplies ... and that's the result.

In picture 3 I have already tried to animate various debris particles via "Apply Stage F / X".
The firestorm in the background has been added with postproduction over a channel with underexposure. The post production saves me at least a lot of render time, if I still have to adjust the animation.

In my little experiment, I found that Imagine and the RJJ textures ( by Richard Jennings ) are such scenes where you can visually generate thousands of objects, such as these rubble mountains with the help of particles. This is very, very easy.

In the finished scene and animation, then a strong wind will blow through the streets and swirl various objects through the air, which fly on the camera. At the end of the scene the camera will come to a standstill after driving through the devastated road in front of an obelisk ... and the obelisk will fall over .. and directly onto the camera.

Maybe I'll upload the whole project for you to download here. So that you can learn the quite simple but effective techniques as well.

By the way, to render in scanline mode with full antialias, I needed just under a minute per image in a resolution of 1280 x 720. For the raytracing I needed for a picture in the same resolution about 4 minutes.
