Blade Runner 2049 Cinema Effect with Imagine3D
For this small test project, I needed a little test time in just 30 minutes. The objects I built rather sporadically, because I was only concerned with the cinema effect.

Before that, I was looking for some inspiration on Youtube in the area of Blade Runner 2049 effects. I discovered a professional community dealing with Cinema4D and came across this workshop.

Looking closer at the workshop, I realized that this is the combination of volumetrics and Z-buffering.

That's when I thought that should work just as well with Imagine3D. And this is the result of about 30 - 45 minutes working time including modeling and rendering!

With the global texture Z-Buffer.itx a scene can be done quickly. The Z-Buffer texture actually does all the work.

You only build your objects and only need this one texture for the whole scene. Furthermore, you do not need any light sources so you take a light source, but sets their intensity to 1, so Imagine does not give an error message.

The background in the global settings must be given the exact same color as Y = 2 in the Z-buffer texture. The Global Illumination sets (ambient light) set R = 255 G = 255 B = 255 and Imagine already generates a homogeneous and global nebula, which does not produce any additional rendering time.

The whole scene, which you see here in the picture, is only 100 x 100 units in size and still the depth of field and the gloomy fog effect are very good to see.

I also believe that Impulse added the Z-Buffer.itx texture to the new versions after switching to volumetric fog, as the old fog did not work in the global parameters.

As who has made this movie effect of Blade Runner 2049 curious, like to communicate here in the forum with me a bit.
